Sustaining Change for the Long Run
Research, Testing and Proven Results
The Teneo founders researched several community-based programs prior to starting formal operations. Once the Teneo model was developed, focus groups with parents and youth who had either completed treatment in residential settings, or were currently struggling with outpatient interventions were conducted. Based upon the focus group feedback and research Teneo launched a trial group. The results of the trial group found that the Teneo model could be successful with a variety of clients. Since that time Teneo has provided services to a wide range of clients, including those with single parents, young adults, and large families.
Teneo conducts pre and post testing utilizing national research instruments (the Youth Outcome Questionnaire or YOQ) to be able to compare and contrast the program’s effectiveness with that of Out-of home placement options (hospitals, treatment centers, wilderness programs, group homes, etc.) and with community-based programs (outpatient, intensive outpatient, day treatment, group therapy, etc.).
Upon request, parents may also contact others who have completed the Teneo program for a personal perspective.
