When to Seek Help
· Signs of a troubled youth are compounded or increase in intensity
· Your loved one becomes disconnected with the family and begins living a separate secretive life.
· You don’t know your son or daughter’s friends or where they are spending their time
· Feeling you have lost or are losing your power as a parent
· Your child has become unmotivated, unproductive and/or loss of goals
· Showing signs of substance abuse or finding drug paraphernalia
· Can’t get your son or daughter off the computer.
· He or she is accessing pornography, or constantly texting in inappropriate ways (sexting)
· Appears depressed and isolated
· Is threatening suicide
· Behavior is causing continual discord in family
· Receiving concerning reports about your child from others
· He or she is no longer communicating with you
· Parental intervention is ineffective
